Sheep Farming can be profitable venture when they are grown to required size within less times. This can be done with

Sometimes even after following the above steps , some of the animals may die during the initial days. With experience and persistence we can achieve profits in this venture.

Maintenance

Maintain with a Proper shed with few acres of land completely fenced. That land can be used by the Sheep to roam and graze freely. Fodder( Super Napier or Hedge Lucerne Grass )and Feed like Cotton seed Hull (పత్తి చెక్క) ,Gram Chunni (కంది చున్ని).With all these conditions it is easier for a farmer to maintain the Sheep to gain the required weight.

When maintained under shed, they can be provided safe shelter from rain and summer , else they may die due to extreme weather conditions.

Cleaning of the Sheep waste becomes easy if we construct Elevated shed. The cleaning and maintenance is easier .The Sheep waste can also easily collected to sell it as Natural fertilizer who are doing Organic farming. Government Subsidies and Bank Loans

With the help of National Livestock Mission (NLM), we can get 50 % subsidy of the total Project cost. First we need Assurance from the bank and take a consent letter about the loan eligibility. We need to submit a Detailed Project Report to the Ministry of Animal Husbandry.

For Example if the Project cost is Rs.1 Crore. Subsidy of 50 Lakhs (25 Lakhs in the beginning of the Project + 25 Lakhs after the completion of the project) can be obtained through NLM.

Profit

  • Buy Sheep which are 15-16 Kg which costs around 6500-7500/- per Sheep . They need to be raised for about 3-4 months.
  • In each month when properly fed and maintained under shed can grow by 4-5 Kgs per month.
  • So after a period of 3-4 months each Sheep will reach a weight of 25-30 Kgs, after which they can be sold in the market at price of 10000-10000 per sheep.
