Required Vaccinations

During the month of August sheep are affected due to many diseases. To save them from these diseases, they need to be vaccinated well in advance. So, Sheep need to purchased and brought under maintained before the month of June itself. Next day after bringing them they need to undergo De-worming first and later Vaccination need to be done under the supervision of Veterinary Doctor. There should be a gap of 20 days between each vaccine, so that by the end of July all the sheep will be fully vaccinated.These the vaccines below

• Enterotoxaemia (ET) Vaccine
• Haemorrhagic Septicemia (H.S.) Vaccine
• Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) Vaccine

• Blue Tongue Vaccine

Monitoring the eating habits

Some sheep which are comparatively big in size end up eating more feed(Cotton seed Hull (పత్తి చెక్క) ,Gram Chunni (కంది చున్ని)), leaving no feed for small ones. Eating too much of the Feed may result in indigestion and leads to death. So, in the initial days after bringing them , give them feed in small quantity and ensure small sheep too eating as required.

Beginners who do not have any experience in sheep farming should avoid to start in rainy season, as it will be most challenging due to many diseases. Maintaining them without prior experience eventually results in mortality of the sheep. So, Beginners need to start in Summer season.
